The Dufek Head is a frozen headland on the south coast of the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises up to 620  m high at a distance of 7 km northeast of Tyree Head on the east side of the mouth of the Aurora Glacier .

The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 2000 after the American Rear Admiral George J. Dufek (1903–1977), among other things commander of the support units of the United States Navy in Antarctica from 1954 to 1959 and head of the first Operation Deep Freeze ( 1955-1956).
