Duffy Jackson

Duff Clark "Duffy" Jackson (born July 3, 1953 in Freeport (Long Island) ) is an American jazz drummer and multi-instrumentalist (bassist, vibraphonist, organist, pianist and singer).
He is the son of bassist Chubby Jackson and first played drums in his father's band and in 1967 with Flip Phillips in Florida. Then he was in the orchestra of the musical Hair and in 1971 in Los Angeles with the quintet by Milt Jackson and Ray Brown . In 1973 he toured Japan with Benny Carter . He also played with Kai Winding , Woody Herman, and recorded with Monty Alexander . In 1974/75 he was in the accompanying orchestra of Sammy Davis . He played with the Count Basie Orchestra and Lionel Hampton , accompanied Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald .
