The Dukes of Windsor are an indie rock / electronic indie band from Melbourne, but now living in Berlin . They are best known for their single "It's a War" and the "The Others" remix from TV Rock .

history

The Dukes of Windsor were founded in Melbourne and released their first EP "Foxhunt" in 2005. Her debut album "The Others", produced by Jonathan Burnside (including Nirvana , Faith No More ) came out in 2006. After that, the Dukes of Windsor toured extensively in Australia. The TV rock remix of "The Others", the single from the album of the same name, reached the Top 10 in the ARIA Charts and was number 1 in the Aria Dance Charts for three months; he was awarded gold (approx. 50,000 records sold in Australia).

That same year the Dukes of Windsor played at the MTV Australian Music Video Awards in Sydney. The second album "Minus" was released on Island Records in late 2008 in Australia. At the end of 2009 the band moved to Berlin, signed a contract with Motor Music and released “It's a War”, an album consisting of songs by “Minus” and “The Others”, as well as the “Kitchen EP”, a record with acoustic versions of some of their songs.
