Dule temple
The Dule Temple ( Chinese 独乐寺 , Pinyin Dúlè sì , English Dule Temple ) in Ji County of the government- direct city of Tianjin (formerly Hebei ), China , is a Buddhist temple.
The temple was originally built during the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the 2nd year (984) of the Tonghe reign of the Liao Dynasty . It is one of the three great surviving temples from this period.
His wooden Guanyin Pavilion ( Guanyin ge观音 阁) is 23 meters high. It is one of the oldest wooden structures in China. It houses a 16 m high Guanyin ( Avalokitesvara ) statue with the heads of ten small Buddhas on its top ( Shiyi mian Guanyin suxiang十 一面 观音 塑像), a rare clay sculpture .
The 10 m high Shanmen Gate ( Shanmen山门) is another attraction of the complex.
The Dule Temple has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China in Tianjin (1-84) since 1961 .
