Dunajská kapela (in German: Danube brass band ) is a Slovak brass band . The ensemble is led by the conductor and flugelhorn player František Bečka .

history

The Danube brass band was founded in March 2004. Almost all members belong to the Slovak Representative Orchestra. The wind band consists of 13 musicians and plays mainly Slovak and Moravian folklore , but without singing. Several members of the band compose bespoke pieces of music for the orchestra.

In September 2004 Dunajská kapela won the title of European Champion 2004 (professional class) at the European Championship of Bohemian-Moravian Brass Music in Bojnice .
