Location of Dunkelsdorf in Schleswig-Holstein

Dunkelsdorf is a village in the municipality of Ahrensbök in the Ostholstein district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein . At times the village belonged to the Lübschen estates .

location

The village with its 341 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2007) is about 4 km south of Ahrensbök and about 11 km north of Lübeck .

history

In 1155 knight Tidericus Dunker from Westphalia settled here and founded a village, which was named Dunkerstorpe after him . He also owned the villages of Böbs and Swinekenroda ( Schwinkenrade ). On April 23, 1353 Nicolaus, Augustin, Johann and Heinrich von Reventlow sold the village to the Lübeck citizen Wilhelm Warendorp, so that it came into the hands of Lübeck patricians and thus became a Lübsches estate. The von Warendorp family held the estate until 1688, then after a hereditary dispute it passed to the Kerkring family from Lübeck, who sold it to Waldemar von Zylow in 1749. In the following period there were frequent changes of ownership until after the Second World War. In 1953 the estate was relocated.

In 1894 and 1918 a small train line was planned from Reinfeld and in 1914 the Oldesloe line , each via Dunkelsdorf, to Ahrensbök, but this was then viewed as unimportant in terms of transport policy. On October 29, 1921, there was a great fire. The manor's stables burned down during a hurricane. The Dunkelsdorf volunteer fire brigade managed to save the neighboring buildings facing downwind and thus save the whole village from a fire disaster. In 1922 the village received electricity.

In 1957 the state road L 184 from Ahrensbök to Lübeck was built. In 2005, Dunkelsdorf celebrated its 850th anniversary.
