The Durdent is a coastal river in France that runs in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region . It rises in the municipality of Héricourt-en-Caux , generally drains in a north-westerly direction through the natural landscape of the Pays de Caux and flows into the English Channel after 25 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Veulettes-sur-Mer and Paluel .

Some time ago the river was still used to power many water mills . Numerous bats live on Durdent , including many rare species.
