Dvorce (Slovakia)

Dvorce (German Bürgerhof ) is a former village in Okres Kežmarok ( Prešovský kraj ) in eastern Slovakia .

The village consisted of farmsteads, was about 20 km away from Kežmarok (German: Kesmark ) and about 8 km away from Levoča (German: Leutschau ) in the Leutschauer Mountains (Slovak: Levočské vrchy ) and belonged to the former CSSR .

During the Second World War , the residents were expelled . Most of those who survived were driven to Germany. To this day, not a single resident has been able to return to his home or home.

After the Second World War, the area was occupied by the Red Army , heavily mined and restricted area . Dvorce had been part of the Dvorce military training area (Slovakia) in the Javorina military district since 1953 . After the abolition of the military district in early 2011, the area of ​​the former town of Levoča was added.
