Dwarskersbos (German about "cross-growing bush Senna alata ") is a coastal village in the municipality of Bergrivier , West Coast District , Western Cape Province in South Africa . In 2011 it had 670 inhabitants. It is 12 kilometers from Velddrif and 33 kilometers from Redelinghuys .
history
The village was founded in 1920 on the farm of the same name. The water supply came from two wells, one of which still exists today. In 1933 the Badhuise was built for the first tourists by the sea . In 1947 Dwarskersbos was electrified. On August 23, 1969, a tidal wave destroyed large parts of the village.
