The Dwyer Escarpment is an icy step on the Pennell coast of East Antarctica Victoria Land . It stretches from Cooper Spur to Cape North .
Participants in a campaign as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions mapped and named them in 1962. It was named after Leonard Joseph Dwyer (1907–1962), from 1955 head of the Australian Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology and member of the planning team for the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
