Dymník (German Rauchberg ) is a 516 m high basalt mountain near Rumburk in the Bohemian Netherlands in northern Bohemia ( Czech Republic ).
history
In 1895 a half-timbered house below the Rauchberg was expanded as a mountain club tavern by the mountain association for northernmost Bohemia , Rumburg department. This mountain inn still exists today as one of the few in northern Bohemia and is a popular destination for Rumburkers and visitors from neighboring Saxony. Pensioners can also stay overnight here. The parking lot in front of the inn is used by day trippers as a starting point for hikes in the area. A marked hiking trail leads from Rumburk to the Dymník.
In 1896, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, the citizen August Wenschuh from Rumburg had a 15 m high lookout tower made of bricks on the Rauchberg, a mountain formation made of basalt rock of volcanic origin. The tower's glazed viewing platform can be reached via 79 steps and offers a beautiful view of the Lusatian Mountains and the Rumburker Bergland. A path leads from the parking lot at the mountain inn, past the Dymnik climbing park, which was opened in 2010 (Lanový Park Dymník u Rumburka), up to the observation tower.
Another attraction on the Dymnik is a stone circle consisting of 22 stone obelisks made of granite embedded in the floor.
view
The view extends from the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and Lusatian Mountains to Jeschken and the Jizera and Giant Mountains . To the north, the ridges of the Lusatian mountains in Saxony limit the horizon.
