Dziani Boundouni is a crater lake on the island of Mohéli in the island state of Comoros .
geography
The lake is located in the southeast of the island, very close to the coast. The surrounding crater edges rise very steeply. They reach the interior of the island, in the north partly 160 m high and on the southern, sea-facing side up to 120 m . The closest settlement is Hamavouna on the coast to the west. From there a path leads around the northern edge of the lake to Itsamia on the east coast. You can reach the lake from the island's capital Fomboni in the northwest in a day's march. The lake has brackish water or sulfur water . The lake is approx. 400 m long and almost 200 m wide.
