Dziennik Wschodni (German roughly: Eastern daily newspaper) is a regional daily newspaper that appears in the Lublin Voivodeship and in parts of the Masovian Voivodeship . The newspaper was published from 1993 under the title Dziennik as the successor to Dziennik Lubelski (who in turn went back to the Sztandar Ludu (German: Standarte des Volk), the PZPR organ in the region around Lublin ). The newspaper appears with local editions for Lublin, Zamość , Chełm , Biała Podlaska and the Powiat Puławski .

The newspaper group Media Regionalne owned the title until May 2014 . Since then, the newspaper has been published by Corner Media , following an edition of the Polish anti-monopoly authority ( Urząd Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów ) . The new owner company is majority owned by the Lublin entrepreneur Tomasz Kalinowski, 42% of the shares are held by 12 employees of the publishing house. The publishing house employs a total of 40 people. The editor-in-chief is Krzysztof Wiejak.

The newspaper was controlled by the Polish circulation control organization ZKDP until mid-2014 ; their circulation in February 2014 was around 8,300 copies.
