EC8OR is a Digital Hardcore - Duo , the 1995 by Patric Catani and Gina V. D'Orio (later Lemonbabies ) was founded.
Band history
Within the DHC, EC8OR is closely related to hardcore techno . EC8OR is pronounced Ecator and is an abbreviation of Eradicator. Patric Catani was already using the name in his time as a graffiti sprayer.
Although there were already various releases under the pseudonym EC8OR on Monotone and Titanium Steel, it was decided to keep the name EC8OR for the band. The self-titled album "EC8OR" was released in 1995 on the left-wing political label Digital Hardcore Recordings by Alec Empire . Several releases for DHR, Grand Royal and Beat Inc in Japan followed.
The band performed at the Prague Industrial Festival. They did their last USA and Japan tour in 2001 and it is unclear whether there will be new releases of the two. The group's last appearance so far was in Dresden in 2005. The gig was later released as a digital album.
Music genre
Like many bands from the digital hardcore scene, the musical style of EC8OR is a mix of hardcore techno and punk , with influences from other styles such as metal , hip-hop and other electronic music forms. The music was primarily created on the Amiga 500 , although some guitar tracks are also included in the music that was recorded by Jerome. The record covers were often created by Hendrik Hellige (Henni Hell). In terms of text, the project is positioned strongly to the left.
