EML is a Dutch vehicle manufacturer from Neede that specializes in motorcycle combinations and trikes . Hennie Winkelhuis (* 1948; † 2007) founded the company in 1972 to manufacture sidecarcross vehicles under the name EML, E igen M ake L ij (freely translated: "In-house production"). EML won the European Championship in 1979 and from 1982 to 1997 the manufacturer won ten World Championship titles in sidecarcross.

In 1977, the first sidecars were manufactured for road traffic and, from 1983, complete sidecars were offered. Today the product line includes various types of sidecars and sidecars and, as an innovation since 2001, the four-wheeled GT-Twin sidecar . EML offered the reinforced “ExtensoDive” fork , in which the 45 mm stanchions only handle the wheel guidance and steering transmission, while the suspension is provided by two damper elements attached in front of the fork tubes. For decades, EML has been one of the major producers in the team scene. Today street carriages are offered under the manufacturer name EML / W-TEC.

EML has been developing trikes based on Harley-Davidson , Honda and Victory motorcycles since 1999 . In 2001, EML was sold by Winkelhuis, who, with the new company W-TEC, wanted to devote themselves entirely to the manufacture of sidecarcross vehicles. W-TEC has been manufacturing racing quads since 2011 .
