After the political change in the GDR, the association was reorganized and received its current name on August 10, 1990.

successes

The women's handball team of the club played in 1990/91 in the last season in the 2nd GDR league, Staffel Süd, where they took fourth place, and then, after the GDR clubs were integrated into the DHB's game operations in 1991/92, in the 2nd handball Bundesliga (middle season).

The footballers played from 1962/63 with two interruptions due to relegation (1966/67 to 1970/71 and 1987/1988) in the Leipzig district league and mostly occupied places in the midfield. In the last season in DFV gaming operations, ESV Delitzsch was Leipzig district champion and was promoted to the Landesliga Sachsen , but was only able to stay there for two years.

Soccer

The division with the strongest membership in terms of number of members has existed since 1950. At the beginning there was strong competition from local rivals '' Traktor '', which until the merger in 1964 often provided the stronger team. Nevertheless, respectable successes such. B. the district league ascent in 1960. With the renewed rise in 1971, the 1st team was able to stabilize and then belonged permanently to the Leipzig district league. One of the special highlights was reaching the district cup final twice. The greatest success was the district championship title in 1990 and the associated promotion to the Landesliga Sachsen, in which one acted two seasons (1990/91 and 1991/92). In the years that followed, the men's team embodied a good district level and repeatedly managed to recruit from its own junior staff. Under coach Wolfgang Letzian, a district championship was celebrated again in 2009. They had renounced the ascent.

Since you gave up the starting place in the district league to the new RB Leipzig second team, you played a league lower in the district class from the 2010/11 season. Only a year later, the men's team brought the double to Loberstadt (champions and North Saxony Cup winners) and rose again to a league. For the next six years, the team re-established itself in the District League North, before unluckily it had to make its way to the North Saxony League in 2018. Another year later, they were able to celebrate their direct resurgence with a 24 point lead.
