The EWA IIIb series was a tank locomotive series of the Vienna-Aspang Railway (EWA). Originally referred to as the TLa series, it had the axle formula Cn2t and was built by Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik in 1879. In 1911 the machines in this series were converted to C1n2t . The boiler pressure could be increased from 9 to 10 bar. The weight as well as water and coal supplies also increased. The table shows the values after the conversion.

In the new designation scheme , the converted locomotives were classified as Series IIIb with the numbers 1–6 . Some machines received a cobel smoke trap instead of the original slim chimney in order to be able to use cheaper types of coal.

When the BBÖ took over the Vienna – Aspang railway on lease in 1937, the machines in this series were not given a BBÖ number. The Deutsche Reichsbahn, however, classified them as 90.7001–7006 in 1938, but eliminated them by 1939. Some machines were also used as factory locomotives. The last was not released from this service until 1960.
