The Eagle Cove is a small cove on the northeastern end of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located southwest of Seal Point on the east bank of Hope Bay .
The bay was discovered by the exploration team of the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901-1903) led by Johan Gunnar Andersson under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld while wintering in Hope Bay in 1903. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey named it after the Eagle , a 1902 under The seal catcher built in Norway under the name Sophie , which was used for the survey to establish a surveying station in Hope Bay.
