EarPods

EarPods

The EarPods are headphones from Apple that were introduced together with the 5th generation iPod touch and the iPhone 5 in 2012. They replaced the EarPhones used until then . The EarPods are included with every new iPhone, iPod touch and iPod nano, but can also be purchased separately.

development

According to Apple, the EarPods were developed over a period of several years using 3D scans of many ears so that they remain more stable in the ear than their predecessors. But since they have a uniform shape, they do not suit every user equally well. Other manufacturers solve this problem with rubber attachments. EarPods offer a better sound than the previous model.

Executions

The EarPods are available in different versions, on the one hand the standard version, which is included with every iPod, and the EarPods version with remote control and microphone ( EarPods with remote and mic ). The version with microphone and remote control has, as the name suggests, a microphone and remote control unit that can be used to control the audio playback of iOS and macOS . The EarPods are available with a 3.5 mm jack plug and, since September 2016, also with a Lightning plug.
