Earlysville is an unincorporated community in Albemarle County , Virginia , United States .

The area is approximately 14 kilometers north of Charlottesville near Charlottesville – Albemarle Airport . The area was named after John Early, who in 1822 bought about four square kilometers of land that is now part of the city. Earlysville had a small business district with shops, restaurants, and various other businesses. As of February 2012, there are now only a small restaurant, an automobile workshop and a post office. There is also an industrial park and several small suburban settlements nearby. Most of the area is characterized by a rural character.

Earlysville was the original seat of Michie Tavern before it moved to Monticello in 1927. Various historic buildings can still be found in Earlysville today, such as the Earlysville Union Church, Longwood and the Buck Mountain Episcopal Church.
