The East Normanby River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Queensland , in the Far North Queensland region on the Cape York Peninsula .

River course

The river arises in the western part of the Daintree National Park , about 75 km south-southwest of Cooktown from the East Normanby River North Branch and the East Normanby River South Branch . It flows north and forms the Normanby River about 5 km west of Mount Macdonald together with the West Normanby River .

Origin of name

Like the main river, the East Normanby River is named after the Marquess of Normanby , Queensland Governor 1871–1874.
