Eberhard Dallagrazia (born February 3, 1937 , † August 11, 2011 ) was a German football player who worked from 1956 to 1963 for SC progress Weissenfels , SC Lok Leipzig and for BSG Chemie Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , played. In the 1970s he worked as a trainer at Chemie Leipzig.

Athletic career

Dallagrazia's career in the GDR Oberliga began in the second half of the 1956 season (calendar year game rhythm) when he took the place of the previously eliminated center forward Karl Meyer at SC progress Weissenfels . From matchday 18 to the end of the season, he was also used as a center forward in all point games. A year later he had already established himself as a regular player and was able to maintain this status until 1960. Except for a few appearances in midfield, he remained the center forward of SC progress. In 1958 he was accepted into the squad of the GDR youth national team, where he played four international matches until 1959.

After progress in Weißenfels, where Dallagrazia had completed 106 league games and scored 14 goals in five seasons, was relegated from the league, he switched to the league club SC Lokomotive Leipzig during the 1961/62 season (return to the summer-spring season). He was used there from the 10th match day, initially as a midfielder, later mainly as a half-right striker. When the SC Lokomotive was dissolved in the summer of 1963 in favor of the SC Leipzig , Dallagrazia was not considered in the formation of the football section of the new sports club and was deported with other players to the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Leipzig, which also received a place in the GDR upper league . After he had played the first two league games for BSG Chemie in August 1963, he fell ill with jaundice and had to end his career as a competitive athlete.

In the summer of 1970 Dallagrazia returned to Chemie Leipzig as a coach and initially took over the 2nd team that had just been promoted to the second-rate GDR league . When the league team was relegated after the 1970/71 season, Dallagrazia took over together with Günter Busch the 1st team, with which the immediate return to the league succeeded. Then Dallagrazia was solely responsible for the league team as a coach, and he was able to keep BSG Chemie in the league for two seasons. In 1973 the team rose again under his leadership. After that, Dallagrazia was no longer active in higher-class football.

He died on August 11, 2011 after a serious illness.
