Eberhard Geiger

Eberhard Geiger (born March 6, 1944 in Volkersheim ; † October 26, 2012 ) was a German brewing scientist.

Life

Geiger initially trained as a brewer and maltster and then studied brewing at the Technical University of Munich in Weihenstephan. He was a research assistant at the chair for technical microbiology and technology at Brewery II. In 1974 he received his doctorate on fermentation by-products in relation to yeast metabolism . In 1983 he took over the management of the State Brewing Technology Testing and Research Institute in Weihenstephan. In 1995 he accepted a chair for technology at Brewery II at the Technical University of Munich. He retired on March 31, 2009.

The focus of his scientific work was the research of yeast physiology .
