Eberhard Nieschlag

Eberhard Nieschlag (born July 16, 1941 in Bad Godesberg ) is a German medic. He is professor of internal medicine at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .

Life

Nieschlag came as the son of Heinrich Nieschlag and Marianne Nieschlag, nee. Cook to the world. After graduating from Aloisiuskolleg in Bad Godesberg, he started studying medicine at the University of Bonn , which he completed in 1967 with the medical state examination. In the same year he received his doctorate. In the following years he stayed as a visiting scholar in London and Edinburgh. In 1975 he completed his habilitation in the field of internal medicine. From 1976 to 1986 he was head of the Experimental Endocrinology Department at the University Women's Clinic in Münster.

In addition, he held a number of managerial positions in national and international specialist committees and associations. From 1980 to 1988 he was head of the reproductive medicine research group at the Max Planck Society in Münster (today: Center for Reproductive Medicine and Andrology (CeRA)) and from 1986 to 2007 director of the Institute for Reproductive Medicine at the University of Münster. From 1981 to 1985 he was President of the International Society for Andrology . From 1985 to 1991 he was chairman of the WHO Task Force for the Regulation of Male Fertility from 1990 to 1993 President of the German Society for Endocrinology , from 1992 to 1998 President of the European Academy of Andrology , from 2002 to 2007 President of the German Society for Andrology , from 2001 to 2003 President of the German Society for Reproductive Medicine and since 2007 he has been President of the European Society of Endocrinology . He has been professor emeritus since 2008.

He is the editor of nine books and has authored more than 250 articles in books and more than 800 articles published in biomedical scientific journals.
