The German Society for Endocrinology e. V. (abbreviation: DGE) is the scientific professional society in the field of endocrinology (which includes the thyroid diseases , the diabetes , the osteoporosis , fertility problems , the obesity , Pituitary and diseases of the adrenal gland , a).

The association sees its main task in promoting research in the field of endocrinology - in the field of basic research as well as in the field of clinical research. It awards several awards and grants to scientists who have achieved outstanding success in this field (see also Science Awards).

The association also advocates an intensification of the exchange of views and experiences between the various disciplines represented in the DGE, but also an intensification of the exchange of views between the DGE and the public. Founded in 1964 Endocrine Society offers annual scientific symposia and is editor of the journal "Journal of Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes" (Eced) (published in Thieme Verlag ). She represents Germany internationally in the European Federation of Endocrine Societies (ESE) and in the International Society of Endocrinology (ISE).

The Endokrinologie Service Gesellschaft mbH EndoScience was founded by the German Society for Endocrinology (DGE) to support the implementation of these goals. It started its work on July 1st, 2005. The DGE and EndoScience office is located in Altdorf near Nuremberg .
