Eberhard Riese

Eberhard Riese (born June 17, 1951 in Leipzig ) is Director of Studies i. R. and President of the Magic Circle of Germany .

Life

Riese studied mathematics, German and history and was a full-time teacher for these subjects at the Paracelsus-Gymnasium-Hohenheim in Stuttgart until his retirement . Since 1979 he has been the 1st chairman of the Magical Circle Stuttgart, from 1987 to 2011 he was Vice-President of the Magical Circle of Germany and has been co-editor of the journal MAGIE since 1990 . In August 2011 he was elected President of the Magic Circle of Germany.

Riese was the artistic director of productions of the Magical Circle Stuttgart in the Theater der Altstadt, in the Varieté on the Killesberg, in the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, in the Friedrichsbau-Varieté and at the Festival of Illusions in Sindelfingen. He has also directed international magic shows, including in Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

As a director he looks after a. a. the Stuttgart magician Franklin (moderator) , Topas (magician) , Julius Frack and Simon Pierro .

In 1997 Riese was in charge of the arts at the World Magician Congress in Dresden, he is a consultant for numerous theater productions and television shows and he was the artistic director of the young talent vaudeville competition `Showstart´ of the` LB-BW-Bank´ and the `Stuttgarter Nachrichten´.

Awards

For his achievements he received the title of Writer of the Year of the MZvD in 2004 for his publications about Kalanag and the 'Ring of Honor with Diamonds' from the MZvD, which was previously only awarded to Siegfried & Roy . In 1999 he became an honorary member of the Magic Circle of Germany.
