Eberhard Schmidt (General Superintendent)
Eberhard Schmidt (born August 18, 1711 in Arneburg , † September 13, 1762 in Eisenach ) was a German Protestant clergyman.
Life
Eberhard Schmidt studied theology in Halle from 1731 . In 1735 he was ordained a preacher in Ilmenau and a pastor in Stützerbach in Weimar . A year later he became court deacon in Weimar, where he was also appointed assessor in the consistory in 1739 . In 1742 Schmidt became pastor at St. Nikolai in Eisenach . From 1761 he was general superintendent.
