Eberhard Störtelberg

Eberhard Störtelberg (* in Hattingen ; † September 9, 1549 in Lübeck ) was a German merchant and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Störtelberg was a businessman in Lübeck and a member of the citizens' committee of the 64s , the power base of Mayor Jürgen Wullenwever . Störtelberg was elected to the Lübeck Council on March 8, 1533 . In compliance with the imperial executive mandate received in July 1535, which called for the restoration of the previous situation and the return of the mayor Nikolaus Brömse from exile, Störtelberg resigned from the council in August 1535 together with other 64 councilors . In 1536 he became Lübeck bailiff on Hammershus , on the island of Bornholm , which Denmark had pledged to Lübeck since 1525 . On May 28, 1541 he was re-elected councilor in Lübeck and was with King Christian III in the same year . from Denmark to complain about trade disruption in Norway and Sweden . In 1545 the Lübeck council appointed him one of the four mayors of the city.

Störtelberg lived in the house at Breite Straße 95 in Lübeck .
