Eberhard the Younger from Gemmingen

Eberhard von Gemmingen, the younger († before 1426) was an early member of tribe B (Hornberg) of the barons of Gemmingen . He is usually with his brother Gerhard d. J. († 1428) mentioned. The brothers inherited property in Gemmingen , Stebbach , Ittlingen and other places from their father's property . They themselves acquired half of Neudeck Castle and property in Erlenbach and in Ober- and Unterbeutingen .

Life

He was a son of Gerhard d. Ä. († 1402) and Anna von Liebenstein , who was still alive in 1409. In 1396 Count Ulrich von Hohenlohe awarded him Albrecht von Gemmingen's fallen fiefdom in Gemmingen . Usually his brother Gerhard d. J. († 1428) mentioned. In 1400 the brothers received the property of their childless uncle Eberhard. In 1401 the brothers were in a feud against Engelhard von Rosenberg and Dietrich von Zwingenberg, where they are said to have done a lot of damage to one another . In 1402 the brothers also inherited their father's property. In 1408 Albrecht von Hohenlohe released the brothers from claims from a pledge made by their father in Ingelfingen . In 1411 the brothers came to an agreement on their Gemmingen property, among the witnesses was Bishop Raban von Helmstatt from Speyer . In 1413, Albrecht von Hohenlohe's brothers acquired part of Neudeck Castle in Erlenbach , in Ober- and Unterbeutingen . In 1414 Eberhard is in the company of the donkey and divides the inheritance among the children of Dieter von Gemmingen. In 1423 he negotiated in a dispute between the citizens of Sindringen and Peter von Berlichingen. He was dead in 1426. It is not known where he died and where he is buried. His property came to the son of the same name, Eberhard "the dove" , who was probably not yet of age when Eberhard died , in whose name Eberhard's brother Gerhard accepted the family's Speyrian fiefs in 1426 . Gerhard died in 1428 and left only two daughters, his property also passed to the descendants of Eberhard.
