Eberhard von Garnier
Eberhard Carl Conrad Erdmann Hermann von Garnier (born April 3, 1881 in Turawa ; † December 31, 1939 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German asset manager, bank manager and association official.
Life
After attending grammar school in Opole and Kreuzburg, Eberhard von Garnier studied law at the Universities of Lausanne, Bonn and Breslau. In 1900 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After the legal traineeship in 1902, he worked as a court trainee in Karlsruhe in Upper Silesia, Breslau and Opole. From 1904 to 1905 he attended the commercial college in Cologne. In 1905 he was a trainee at Kommerz- und Discontobank Hamburg.
In 1906 von Garnier joined the Graf von Tiele-Winckler headquarters in Katowice, then in 1907 became a government trainee in Opole and in 1910 a government assessor. From 1910 to 1920 he was general director of the Graf von Tiele-Winckler headquarters in Zellin. From 1920 to 1921 he was the general manager of the Reich Association of German Forest Owners' Associations. After living on his Horn estate in Upper Bavaria from 1921 to 1927, he worked from 1927 to 1928 as co-director of the von Wallenberg, Pachaly & Co. bank in Breslau and as president of the German Economic Association for Poland. In mid-1928 he was appointed president of the court chamber of the family estates of the former ruling Prussian royal family.
He was chairman of the board of directors of the Neubeuren am Inn dormitory and a member of the German gentlemen 's club .
