Eberhard von Gemmingen († 1419)

Eberhard von Gemmingen († 1419 ) was an early member of tribe B (Hornberg) of the barons of Gemmingen . He had possessions in Burg and other places. Since he remained childless, he ceded his property to two nephews while he was still alive.

Life

He was a son of Dieter d. J. († 1359) and Anna von Gosheim. The father had acquired property in Bürg and acquired further property through his marriage. Eberhard was able to increase this property, including a meadow in rows in 1390 . He is also documented as a witness in 1396 when the question was whether the deceased Albrecht von Gemmingen had received his share in Gemmingen from Ulrich von Württemberg or from Kraft von Hohenlohe as a fief . Eberhard testified that he had been present at two enfeoffments by the Hohenloher family. Since he was unmarried, he already had his nephews Eberhard and Gerhard, the sons of his brother Gerhard the Elder, in 1400 . Ä. to hand over his goods, who then put him back in his goods. This took place again for half of Bürg in 1404. Eberhard remained single, died in 1419 and was buried in Gemmingen in his father's grave.

The nephew Gerhard d. J. († 1428) had only daughters and the nephew Eberhard the Elder. J. died relatively young in 1426, so that his son Eberhard the Dove († 1479) had a lot of possessions at an early age.
