Echelaus
Echelaos or Echelas ( Greek Ἐχέλαος or Ἐχέλας ) is in Greek mythology a son of Penthilus , son of Orestes of Mycenae with his half-sister Erigone . Like his father, he is connected in Greek mythology to the settlement of the island of Lesbos and the opposite mainland in Asia Minor and is considered the leader of a colonization enterprise on Lesbos. The landscape between Ionia and Mysia , later called Aiolis , was settled by his son Gras .
