Echeveria chapalensis is a species of the genus Echeveria ( Echeveria ) in the family of thick-leaf plants (Crassulaceae).

description

Echeveria chapalensis grows branching with shoots that reach a length of 50 centimeters or more and a diameter of 4 to 12 millimeters. The individual leaf rosettes are 7 to 14 centimeters in diameter. The spatulate-rhombic and short-pointed leaves are up to 5 to 7.5 inches long and 2 to 2.5 inches wide. They have an attached tip and the surface is finely roughened and papilous. They are green in color and often reddened around the edges.

The annual inflorescence becomes 20 to 50 centimeters long and reaches a diameter of 4 to 7 millimeters. The flower stalk is less than 0.5 millimeters long. The upright and pressed sepals are 8 to 10 millimeters long. The 5-edged corolla is 13 to 15 millimeters long and has a diameter of about 5 to 7 millimeters at the base. It is greenish in color at the base, has pink keels and is pink above. The number of chromosomes is 45.

Distribution and systematics

Echeveria carnicolor is common in Mexico in the states of Jalisco and Michoacán .

The first description was in 1989 by Reid Venable Moran and Charles Harrison Uhl .

The species is very similar to Echeveria waltheri , but the species differ significantly in terms of the number of chromosomes.
