Echeveria harmsii is a species of the genus Echeveria ( Echeveria ) in the family of thick-leaf plants (Crassulaceae).

Echeveria harmsii is covered with very small hairs on all parts of the plant, except for the inside of the flowers. The plants branch out and reach shoot lengths of 30 centimeters or longer. The leaves at the end of the shoots are loosely in clusters and are broadly lanceolate to spatulate. They become 2 to 3, sometimes up to 5, centimeters long and 1 centimeter wide. They are pointed and usually colored red at the edge and at the tip.

The racemose inflorescence consists of one to two branches and one to three flowers on each branch. These stand on a stalk up to 3 centimeters long. The sepals, which are spread out and curved upwards, are up to 18 millimeters long. The narrow and urn-shaped corolla is up to 33 millimeters long and 16 millimeters wide. The scarlet petals are colored yellow around the edges.

The number of chromosomes is n = 19.

Distribution and systematics

Echeveria harmsii is common in the Mexican state of Oaxaca .

It was first described in 1931 by James Francis Macbride . Synonyms of Echeveria harmsii J.F.Macbride are Oliver elegans Rose (1903), cotyledon elegans (Rose) NEBr. (1905), Oliveranthus elegans (Rose) Rose (1905) and Echeveria elegans (Rose) A. Berger (1930).
