Eckart Beinke

Eckart Beinke (born March 31, 1956 in Oldenburg ) was initially a musician in the rock scene (guitar / keyboard instruments). After studying composition with Jens-Peter Ostendorf in Bremen and with Gérard Grisey in Paris, further courses followed, among others with Klaus Huber , Tristan Murail , Harrison Birtwistle and Philippe Manoury . Since then he has been working as a composer, as a lecturer at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and as a mediator of contemporary music.

composition

Beinke created sound installations (e.g. at the Max Planck Institute in Dresden) and radio plays, and chamber music is an essential part of his Œeuvre. In his music for two pianos , hiding sickness and wet eyes close too , he used slow sound progressions and isolated quotations ( Charles Ives , Johann Sebastian Bach , children's songs). The ensemble piece one note for five musicians, referring to Henry Purcell, is now available in six versions. The ideas of French spectral music have shaped Beinke's musical language since the early 1990s. He created three saxophone quartets. His music has been performed in Asia, America and Europe, including at the IGNM World Music Days in 1998 (England) and 1999 (Romania).

Mediation

Since 1990 Beinke has been a co-founder and since then chairman of oh ton , an association for the promotion of new music in Oldenburg. In 1994 the oh ton ensemble , which is independent of the association and of which he is the artistic director, was formed. During this time, in addition to Iannis Xenakis , Dieter Schnebel , Klaus Huber and Hans-Joachim Hespos , younger, as yet unknown composers were invited to Oldenburg. Among them are Juliane Klein , Helmut Oehring and Thiery Alla . Placement to young people was particularly important to Beinke. He initiated u. a. 2006 the children's opera Negrom by François Rossé and in 2005 organized a workshop by Vinko Globokar with students from Oldenburg.
