Eckart Reinmuth

Eckart Reinmuth (born May 27, 1951 in Rostock ) is a German New Testament scholar .

Life

Reinmuth studied Protestant theology at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald from 1969 to 1974 . From 1974 to 1981 he worked as a research assistant to Traugott Holtz in the theology section of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . From 1981 to 1986 he was a parish pastor. This was followed by teaching at the Naumburg Catechetical College (church college since 1990, dissolved in 1993). In 1993 Reinmuth completed his habilitation at the theological faculty of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In the same year he received a teaching position at the Institute for Protestant Theology of the Erfurt-Mühlhausen University of Education . From 1995 to 2017 he teaches as a professor for the New Testament at the theological faculty of the University of Rostock .

Reinmuth's focus is on the exegesis of Paul. He received his doctorate in 1981 on Paulus Paränese (admonition speech) and wrote a commentary on the Thessalonians in the Göttingen New Testament German series as well as a comment on the Philemon in the Leipzig Theological Hand Commentary on the New Testament .

With the lecture “Sola scriptura. A New Testament Note ”in the University Church of Rostock , Eckart Reinmuth retired on January 20, 2017.
