Eckhard Kremers

Eckhard Kremers (* 1949 in Elz ) is a German painter and sculptor .

Life

Eckhard Kremers has been working as a freelance artist since 1981 . He received his artistic training from 1971 to 1976 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . With a language scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Eckhard Kremers studied modern Japanese language from 1976 to 1978 at the University of Bonn and at The Naganuma School (Tokyo School of Japanese Language) in Tokyo. From 1978 to 1980 he studied painting and aesthetics at the Tokyo University of Art with a grant from the Japanese Ministry of Culture ( Mombu-shō ) . In 1993 he received the professorship for design theory at the faculty of design at the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim / Holzminden / Göttingen . From 2000 to 2016 Eckhard Kremers was a professor at the Philipps University of Marburg , where he played a key role in the introduction of the master’s program in Fine Arts at the Institute for Fine Arts in 2010 . The work of Eckhard Kremers includes painting, printmaking , sculpture and photography .
