The Luther Peak is a 820 m high mountain on the Borchgrevink Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Admiralty Mountains it rises 18 km southeast of Mount Peacock above Edisto Inlet .
Scientists from the first US Operation Deep Freeze mapped it in March 1956 using radar measurements . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1956 after Roger William Luther (1911-2006), captain of the icebreaker USCGC Edisto , with whose help the radar measurements were carried out.
