Eckhard Lucius

Eckhard R. Lucius (born May 13, 1954 in Hankensbüttel ; † September 21, 2011 ) was a biology didactic at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) at the University of Kiel .

Life

As a former student of the Ratsgymnasium Hanover , he passed the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools in biology and chemistry at the Leibniz University of Hanover . This was followed by the second state examination at the Elsa-Brändström-Schule in Hanover and the participation in the then Hoechst AG in Frankfurt as well as the doctorate in didactics of biology at the IPN at the University of Kiel.

Since 1995 he has been promoting talent as managing director of the Biology Olympiad (IBO) on behalf of the BMBF , he was also co-founder of the European Science Olympiad ( EUSO ) since 2002 and the International Junior Science Olympiad ( IJSO ) since 2004. In addition, he participated in biology didactic projects on biotechnology and Genetic engineering as well as system earth and was deputy chairman of the state association for biology, life sciences and biomedicine Schleswig-Holstein of the VBIO .
