Ed Alleyne-Johnson (* 1959 in Liverpool ) is a British electric violinist and street musician .

Life

Ed Alleyne-Johnson has been a busker since his college years as an art student at Oxford University in the early 1980s. He has performed as a street musician across Europe and North America. In 1989 the British band New Model Army hired him to record their album Thunder and Consolation . The most famous song on the album was Vagabonds , which was shaped by Alleyne-Johnson's introductory violin solo. He then toured with the band for five years. Today he is again working as a street musician in England and can be seen mainly in the cities of Chester and York .
