Ed Hatoum (born December 7, 1947 in Beirut ) is a former Canadian - Lebanese ice hockey player and coach who worked for the Detroit Red Wings and Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League as well as the Chicago Cougars and Vancouver from 1968 to 1974 Blazers has played in the World Hockey Association .

Career

Born in Lebanon, Ed Hatoum emigrated to Canada with his family in 1957 , where he began his career as a hockey player. First he played from 1964 to 1968 in the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey Association for the Hamilton Red Wings . Then the winger was committed by the Detroit Red Wings , for which he was the first player in his country in the National Hockey League on the ice in the 1968/69 season. He also played this season for the Baltimore Clippers from the American Hockey League . In Detroit Hatoum could not prevail, so that he came in his second season there only five missions and most of the year was active for the Fort Worth Wings from the Central Hockey League .

On June 10, 1970, Hatoum was selected in the NHL Expansion Draft by the Vancouver Canucks , for which he scored four scorer points, including one goal, in 26 games in the following season, before moving to the Seattle Totems from Western Hockey during the season League was loaned out. The 1971/72 season spent Hatoum exclusively in the AHL, where he was on the ice for the Rochester Americans . This was followed by a year each with the Chicago Cougars and the Vancouver Blazers in the World Hockey Association , before he let his career end from 1974 to 1977 with the Nelson Maple Leafs in the Western International Hockey League , which he also in the 1974/75 season as a player coach.
