Adrian Jozef "Ed" Kea (born January 19, 1948 in Weesp , Netherlands ; † September 1, 1999 in Ontario , Canada ) was a Dutch - Canadian ice hockey player who worked for the Atlanta Flames and, among others, from 1968 to 1983 St. Louis Blues has played in the National Hockey League . His nephew Joe Nieuwendyk was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Ed Kea began his career as a hockey player with the Collingwood Kings, for which he was active in the Ontario Hockey Association in the 1968/69 season . The defender then played for three years in the Eastern Hockey League for the Jersey Devils and St. Petersburg Suns . During this period he also came to five missions for the Seattle Totems from the Eastern Hockey League. On October 6, 1972, he signed a contract as a free agent with the Atlanta Flames , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1973/74 season . For the first two years in the Flames' franchise , however, he mainly played for their farm teams from the Central Hockey League , the Omaha Knights and Tulsa Oilers . From 1974 to 1980, the native Dutchman was a regular for Atlanta in the NHL, before he surrendered to the St. Louis Blues on October 10, 1979 together with Don Laurence and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 1981 in exchange for Garry Unger has been.
