Life and work

McGuinness began working as a full-time comic book artist in the early 1990s, having previously attended Stoughton High School in Stoughton. The series he has drawn since then include Mr. Majestic , Superman and Superman / Batman for DC Comics , Vampirella for Image Comics , and Deadpool , Incredible Hulk and Captain America for Marvel Comics . His best-known work is probably the anniversary issue # 25 of the Captain America series .

In 2003, McGuinness and his friends and colleagues Lesean Thomas and Michael Bencic founded the short-lived art studio "Artxilla", which they used to work on the comic novel HALO , which is one of the best-selling "art comics" of 2006.

After working on Superman / Batman , which lasted several years in collaboration with writer Jeph Loeb , he switched to Marvel Comics in 2007/08 to create the new series Red Hulk , which is also written by colleague Jeph Loeb. He also replaces his colleague Joe Madureira for the series The Ultimate and is responsible for the series as an illustrator from Part 4 onwards.

Writers with whom McGuinness - who currently lives in Maine with his wife and four children - has worked particularly often in the past are Joe Kelly and Jeph Loeb .
