Fabio Tognetti

Fabio Tognetti (* 1965 in Bellinzona ) is a Swiss composer .

After finishing secondary school, Fabio Tognetti began studying music in 1975. He went to Paris, where he attended harmony, counterpoint and composition courses under the direction of the professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique Alain Weber .

He then deepened his knowledge of composition with Paul Glass and devoted himself to the practice of classical and baroque improvisation with Ottavio Dantone at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano .

In 1995 he received the diploma of professor of theory from the Swiss Society for Musical Pedagogy . In 1996 David Richards awarded him the “ Prix ​​du grand jury ” of the Montreux “ Profession artiste ” national competition , which enabled him to record his first CD in the “ Mountain Studios ”.

From 2000 to 2006 Fabio Tognetti was a lecturer and professor at the University of Music in Italian-speaking Switzerland , and since 2006 he has been teaching at the Helvetic Music Institute in Bellinzona, where he is also responsible for a research project on musical theory teaching .

His works include various compositions for soloists, chamber orchestras and orchestras.
