Eddie Chan
Eddie Chan ( Chinese 陳小明 / 陈小明 , Pinyin Chén Xiǎomíng , Jyutping Can 4 Siu 2 ming 4 , born March 17, 1954 in Hong Kong , stage name 艾迪 , Ài Dí , Ai Ti , Jyutping Ngaai 6 Dik 6 , Cantonese Ngai Dik ) is a Chinese actor who played mostly in Hong Kong film productions .
Chan made his film debut in 1974 in the erotic film Women of Desire . After a number of other erotic films, he played for the first time in 1977 in a drama called What Price? - Stardom wore. In Germany, Chan became known to a wider audience through the role of the desperate undercover investigator in the 1981 film drama Man on the Brink (German title: Man without a way out ). The first broadcast the film in 1982 in a dubbed version. This makes Man on the Brink the only film with Eddie Chan's participation that has been shown on German television. Chan's career peaked in the early 1980s. He was able to record further successes from this time, for example with the horror film He Lives by Night or the action film Energetic 21 (both from 1982). With the film Only for You , Chan briefly returned to the erotic genre in 1986. Fans of the manga and anime series Dragonball may know Chan for his role in the unofficial Taiwanese real- life version of the series, Dragon Ball - The Magic Begins (released in 1989). Chan played a character named Turtle Man (corresponds to the character Muten Roshi in the original). From 1995 onwards, Chan took a long break from acting until he took on a role again in 2001. In 2004, Chan first directed a film, the fight scenes in the action strip Be Out of Control .
