Eddie Gaven (born October 25, 1986 in Hamilton Township , New Jersey ) is a retired American football player .

Until the 2013 season he played for the Columbus Crew from Ohio in Major League Soccer . He was a junior national player in the USA and has played four times for the senior team . Gaven is considered a highly talented attacking midfielder with playmaker qualities.

Between 2003 and 2005 he played 75 missions for the New York MetroStars and scored 16 times. He has been playing for the Columbus Crew since 2006. He came to Ohio in exchange for striker Edson Buddle .

He took part in the U-17 World Cup in Finland in 2003 and played in the U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands in 2005 . He is the second youngest player to play in Major League Soccer after Freddy Adu .

He has been a national team player since July 11, 2004. He played his first international match against Poland .
