Life

Some critics describe Eden Brent as part Bessie Smith , part Janis Joplin, and part Diana Krall while others compare her to Dinah Washington , Sarah Vaughan, and Norah Jones . Brent's talent enables her to sing rough blues on the one hand, and demanding jazz and everything in between on the other.

She received her basic musical training in a musical family and at the University of North Texas, where she studied jazz playing and composition. Then she played with the deltapianist Boogaloo Ames , who took her under his wing. She performed with him all over Mississippi.
