Edertalbahn
The Eder Valley Railway has been the name of the Korbach - Arfeld railway line built between 1900 and 1911 since at least 1904 . The client was the Prussian State Railway .
The railway line was built in five sections:
- The Korbach - Frankenberg section was opened on May 1, 1900, see Warburg - Sarnau railway line
- The Frankenberg - Allendorf section was opened on December 1, 1908, see Nuttlar – Frankenberg railway line
- The Allendorf - Hatzfeld section on November 17, 1910, see Bad Berleburg – Allendorf railway line
- The section Hatzfeld - Arfeld on November 17, 1910, see the Bad Berleburg – Allendorf railway line
- The Allendorf - Winterberg section was also opened on December 1, 1908 as a direct north connection to the Ruhr area, after the construction of the connection to the Ruhr area was given priority in order to establish the so-called Ruhr-Eder Railway . Due to the Uplandbahn running parallel from 1917 , this branch never achieved greater importance and was shut down again from 1966 (Allendorf - Hallenberg section).
