Edesbüttel vineyard

The Edesbütteler Riede is a right tributary of the Hehlenriede . The stream is created east of Wettmershagen by the confluence of several small streams and drainage ditches. Sources of these streams are at Grassel , Klein Brunsrode and Essenrode. From Wettmershagen the brook flows in a westerly direction and covers between Edesbüttel and Calberlah one after the other the Mittelland Canal and twice the Elbe Lateral Canal . Then the Edesbütteler Riede flows into the Hehlenriede.

Outdoor swimming pool in Edesbüttel

There is an outdoor swimming pool in the village . It lies at the confluence of the Elbe Side Canal with the Mittelland Canal . There is a diving pool with a 3-meter tower and two 1-meter diving boards, a swimmer's pool, a non-swimmer's pool and a paddling pool. The pools were partially heated by a solar system until 2013. There has been a permanent heating system and a photovoltaic system since 2015. The Isenbüttel community is responsible for this. There is also a sponsoring association that supports the needs of the open-air swimming pool and the village. In 2008 the association celebrated its 25th anniversary. In 2016, an Oktoberfest will take place in front of the outdoor pool in Edesbüttel for the first time.
