Wettmershagen is a part of the municipality of Calberlah and is located between Wolfsburg- Sülfeld and Calberlah- Allenbüttel in the district of Gifhorn , Lower Saxony .

geography

The Edesbütteler Riede flows on the southern edge of the village . The Edesbütteler Riede is a right tributary of the Hehlenriede . The stream is created east of Wettmershagen by the confluence of several small streams and drainage ditches. Sources of these streams are at Grassel , Klein Brunsrode and Essenrode . From Wettmershagen the brook flows in a westerly direction and covers between Edesbüttel and Calberlah one after the other the Mittelland Canal , the Elbe Lateral Canal and again the Mittelland Canal. Then the Edesbütteler Riede flows into the Hehlenriede.

history

On March 1, 1974 Wettmershagen was incorporated into the municipality of Calberlah.

Culture and sights

Church of St. John the Baptist

In the center is the Evangelical Lutheran village church of St. Johannes d. Baptist. The organ from 1861 was renovated in 2005.
